Organogram
SRDI is a government organization under the administrative control of Ministry of Agriculture. Director is the chief executive of the institute. He is assisted by CSO's, PSO's of HQ based Sections and Regions and Assistant Director (Admin.) for smooth functioning of the institute.
The institute has 9 sections under 4 full-fledged divisions and 2 research centers headed by senior scientists and senior officers. SRDI has 21 field offices in 21 districts controlled by 6 Regional offices. It has also 5 laboratories (Central Lab. 1 and Regional Lab. 4) for soil, water, plant and fertilizer analysis from different sources. To provide services to farmers Govt. decided to transfer 4 laboratories of Bangladesh Agricultural Research Institute (BARI) to SRDI in 1993. The process enhances through establishing 11 more labs in 11 districts through Establishment of Soil Testing Laboratories (ESTL) project which enable to analyze 40,000 samples per year. Besides these 6 Mobile Soil Testing Laboratories (MSTL) provided services to near about 3200 farmers per year.
